Writing Home: A Sense of Place at Kenneglenn Nature Preserve
Join writer and teacher Rick Ohler of Right Field Writing Works for a two-day writing adventure. Using directed writing exercises and gentle feedback, participants will spend the weekend writing about place. Over the two sessions each writer will craft a unique Sense of Place essay that, when finished, can be published on the Land Conservancy’s Web site. There will plenty of time for freewriting as well as time to explore the Land Conservancy’s headquarters, a beautiful 131-acre nature preserve. The workshop is limited to 12 participants, so sign up today. A fee of $125 includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday, refreshments on Sunday. More information at www.rightfieldwritingworks.com.

Owls with Chuck Rosenburg at USA Birds Supply
Join Chuck Rosenburg for an in-depth presentation on owls of our area. Hosted by the Land Conservancy and USA Birds Supply at 11163 Main Street in Clarence, NY.

Owl Prowl with Chuck Rosenburg at Kenneglenn Nature Preserve
Join Chuck Rosenburg for an evening owl prowl. After a brief introductory presentation, participants will venture into the dark to listen and watch for owls. Chuck will imitate owl calls in an effort to lure in these secretive nocturnal raptors. Mr. Rosenburg gained a keen interest in the outdoors while growing up near the Klydel Wetlands in North Tonawanda. He obtained a bachelor's degree in wildlife management from Purdue University and a master's degree in wildlife biology from the College of William and Mary. His master's thesis focused on barn owl habitat use, as determined using radio-telemetry. He worked as a private environmental consultant for 15 years before accepting a wetlands ecologist position with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in 2006.
