How to Manage Invasive Species on Your Property

Kenneglenn Scenic & Nature Sanctuary

Saturday, October 25
10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Earlier this year, the Land Conservancy was awarded funding from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and New York Sea Grant (NYSG) for restoration efforts at our Kenneglenn and Mossy Point Preserves. As part of this project, we are partnering with Ecos Cooperative, Inc. to host outreach events on invasive species identification and management. Join us at our Kenneglenn Scenic & Nature Preserve on Saturday, October 25 for a two-hour workshop to gain insight on how you can maintain (or restore) healthy natural habitats on your property.

During this workshop, you will learn:

  1. how to use tools and apps to identify invasive species in forests

  2. how invasive species impact forest health and function

  3. how to manage invasions

  4. how to cultivate ecosystems resilient to invasion

The workshop will be led by Ecos Cooperative co-owner Josh Konovitz. Part of the workshop will be held indoors at our Kenneglenn offices, and part will be held in our Kenneglenn preserve.
