Spring Wildflowers at the Niagara Escarpment

Saturday, May 4, 2024

10:00 a.m. - 11:30

Niagara Escarpment Preserve, Lockport, NY

Each spring, ephemeral plants cover the forest floor of our Niagara Escarpment Preserve. These plants often have some of the showiest flowers of all of our native flora, and include species such as Trilliums, cut-leaved toothwort, bloodroot, and many others. Ephemerals emerge early in the year to take advantage of the sunlight, which penetrates the bare tree canopy. They put on a show worth seeing! Join our Restoration Ecologist, Andy Lance, on a guided tour of this wonderful place.
